I have both a Precision V and a Big Al 5 s-s-s. The Big Al has the slap and the 'B' string tone down all day and I play both doing about 40 shows this year.
All that being said, my Precision V is special and has a delightful slap tone and if I had to bring one bass, I'd choose the P-V because regardless of the room, the PA, the genre and X factors, I can dial it in on the Precision easily and sometimes, in spite of the options, I am constanly having to work the Big Al (and its active system) over and it can be a battle some nights.
