StingRay Classic or...?

I'm torn between a Classic and one of the new Specials (like a 4 string H). I currently play a Precision tuned down a 1/2 step in my current punk-rock band and want to get a second 4 string to keep in standard tuning. I've been thinking about getting a StingRay just to have something a little different to go with my Precision and J-style 5er and I wouldn't mind playing the new bass with my band sometimes, too.

Any thoughts as to which one I should lean toward? Both seem like great options, but I haven't had a chance to play a classic. I will admit I really like the ergonomics of Ps and Js, but have been wanting to try a Ray.

What I'm about to advise is going to be very controversial, but it is my honest opinion. I had a Classic Stingray 4 with the most beautiful flame maple neck I have ever seen. That neck was also incredibly unstable. Flame and birdseye necks are, by their nature, generally, but certainly not always, less stable than run of the mill necks. Also, I was not a huge fan of the 2 band eq ( I'm going to catch hell for this ), but the 3 band Stingray 4H that replaced it, and my current Stingray 5HH 3 band have very stable necks and sound much better. IMHO. YMMV. Etc, etc. Good luck and cheers!
