Stingray neck... dubious

Fake. Stingrays don't have the truss rod adjuster at the headstock and the bridge is wrong. The sunburst looks cheap too
You need to read the item description. The bass was originally a fake, and was supposedly upgraded to a real SR neck.
There was a point in time when MM did a 4-bolt neck with the truss adjuster at the headstock. I don't know of a lot of knockoff SR necks around, and that one has the period-correct birdseye neck, and the right finish, which makes me think its real.

True. I had an early EB MM that had the adjuster at the headstock. The pre-EB ones did too. Not sure what year they were moved.
It says the neck was bought new in 2001 and they didn't have the headstock adjuster then for sure

Makes sense. I bought my Ray brand new in 1990, so it was probably an '89 or so. The serial # was the B02XXXX series
That's exactly it: the neck looks good. 4-hole and truss rod adjustment at headstock existed... but
1) to buy a neck new is hard, given the policy of "hand in your old one to buy a new one" on EBMM.
2) bought new in 2001? If the neck is real it would be a lot older than that!

He does go on to say that as its a four bolt neck it must be an old one, just sold to him as new.
Perhaps the seller meant the neck was purchased in 2001, just not necessarily 'brand new'. EBMM won't sell you a brand new neck ever unless you send them the old one from your bass first.
My guess is whoever had the bass before the seller bought the neck as new old stock off eBay or something. If its a fake, somebody did some really painstaking work to make it look authentic.
