Stingray question

I am gassing for a SR4, 2 band EQ, maple board, natural, tort--think Paul S. Denman.

One thing that haunts me...Birdseye Maple. :eyebrow:

Has anyone one else seen incredible Birdseye maple necks/fingerboards on an SR4? Have I just dreamt this? :crying:

Got Pix? :ninja:

i have a ray from the mid 90's and it's got plenty of birdseye and flame on the neck. sorry no pics for the moment. i have tried lot's of newer sting rays and to me they just don't feel the same. it's not related to the neckwood, but more of a general observation. the new ones just don't feel as solid for some reason and the feeling of the neck is very different. the preamp on mine feels solid, turn a knob and you know you turned a knob. i'm not dissing the new ones, but my advice to the op is to get a second hand one from the early to mid 90's which are imo the best rays out there.
