Stingray SLO special

Hi,
I'l looking for a kind of basse whos' in not on the market anymore.
i mean about the Stingray SLo special ( a lot of people looking for this basse).
The questions are :
Is it possible to buy a Sterling (ceramic pick up), and put a Stingray pick up alnico and electronic inside the Sterling ? (i saw one on EBay ) !!
Or another solution :
To buy a Stingray and put a Sterling neck instead of ? ( is the same dimension at the body insn'it) ?

It's body and electronic Stingray with the Sterling neck !
The questions are :

Is it possible to buy only the pickup and the Stingray electronic ?
If yes? where ?
Or another solution :

Because i prefere the sound of Alnico that the Ceramic ?

Plus, with regard to the pickup...
The sterling uses the 3-way switch and a Phantom Coil in Single coil mode to cancel hum. The Sterling electronics are designed around that and won't work in the Stingray without serious modification.
If a Stingray SLO is what you're after, you will have to scour the classifieds and other sites until you find it....and hope you have the money ready to go.

I mean to change and put a electronic kit of a Stingray inside a Sterling, and not vice versa ( or not the opposite).
But your wright, i would find a Slo special.
That's a shame that the slo was not anymore on the market !

I see that the Vault has one of these (actually 2) available: Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay Special SLO Special HH - Orange Crush. I would have came close to ordering one when they were first announced, but I had a feeling that the pandemic apocalypse was about to strike. Now that it may look like there's light on the horizon (and they're down to 2 from 5), I've been thinking more of it. I have a Stingray Special 5 and I am partial to a jazz neck, so is this essentially as close as to a Stingray Special Jazz as it comes?

There's also one in a much more palatable black.

A friend of mine has done that. He put a John East preamp (based on pre-EB stingray) and a Nordstrand AlNiCo MM pickup into his Sterling.

The SBMM Sub Series are a Stingray with a 1.5" nut and are cheap.

Old post - I know. The Stingray Slo Special is no longer available from EBMM. I have one: HS in Honeyburst with maple neck. [EDIT: found my photo]. I love it and was considering ordering a second, maybe a fretless. According to Beaver Felton at Bass Central, they are no longer available even to order.

As for the neck, the Slo Special has one less fret than the Sterling. It is 1.5" at the nut. While the neck shape is very similar to the Sterling, it is not identical (despite lots of folks claiming it's a Sterling neck on a Stingray, it's not). It's a Stingray headstock. Mine is slightly thicker than my Sterling necks, but nowhere near the thickness of a standard Stingray. I confirmed that the necks are not completely identical when I contacted EBMM about this years ago.

If you can find one, go for it. I recommend the HS or HH over the H, but to each their own.

Older thread I know but does anyone know how many iterations of the current lighter roasted maple neck stingray there have been with the slo neck? I know there's the 2 limited runs of the orange sparkle single h and the black hh. Are there any others?
