Stinkin' UPS

I'd send it back, if it got knocked around so much that screws were stripped out, who knows what else could be wrong. You paid for a new amp, you could get one used on the road for 15 years in better shape.

Even if they knocked a HUGE chunk out of the price, I'd want to pay full price for a new one, but that's just me.

Randy

That sucks man. I would definately send it back. I'm honestly really surprised, because in all the years I've used UPS, I've NEVER had a package arrive to me even slightly damaged. Actually I think maybe once I got a small small box from Amazon.com that was kind of destroyed but then again, Amazon doesn't use much padding, the product didn't fill much of the box, and it was fine otherwise.

I'd ask if they could use Fedex instead next time, or atleast maybe ship it out through another UPS mode besides ground.

Me neither. I don't know what all the fuss is about. I have many a time received someone else's packages but I usually end up giving them back :(

Aaron @ Bassnw gave me the Eden man's# & said they are willing to ship me a new unit & a shipping label for the old one. I just need to call him(Eden-guy)Monday(their offices were already closed by the time I got the message). I think it would be best to return it. I'm still pretty jazzed, though because at least I've found THE amp for me- DB&BG. I also just got a Washburn AB-20 ABG :hyper: (also from Bassnw- I love these guys). Gotta go play, now! :bassist:

So the shipping label finally arrived. No real gripes w/U.S. Musical(Eden's owner),I guess. The salesdude told me the Chicago area is the most clogged UPS corridor there is. Oh, well. So now I wait for them to get the amp, look at it & ship me a new one. I was all uppity about UPS but my shipper tells me Fedex is worse- he said they won't admit losing/destroying stuff. :rollno:

I hate waiting for things to arrive by post. I've been waiting almost a week now for my bass, from USPS. It says 4 to 10 days - do they stick to that?

Are all shipping couriers like that? Over here we pretty much have Royal Mail and ParcelForce, I haven't really heard anyone complain about either. Well, RM loses thousands of letters every year, but I've never lost one.

I also hate waiting, but the feeling you get when it finally does arrive is usually worth it. As for USPS, I have not had anything shipped by them, so I can't comment. We all like to complain, I think, so you rarely hear about it when everything goes well. When I hear 4-10 days or whatever #, I try to resolve myself to my stuff arriving well beyond the ETA. Inspect everything well & save your box(es)for potentially returning items. Burntgorilla, I hope your deal ends well!

So I call up U.S. Musical 3 or 4 days ago; at that point it hadn't 'showed up in their system'. OK. Next day, I call again- it's there, they'll ship a replacement. OK. So today they call & tell me they recieved *just the head*. I put a 49 pound 1x10 bass combo in the box, & it magically sheds the cab? :eyebrow: I called back later & they confirmed the package weighed 55 lbs when they recieved it. So again I hear, "We'll get you a new unit as soon as possible." :hmm:

Wow man, that is rough. I wonder how they came to the conclusion that one of their amps alone weighs 55lbs. Maybe the person you spoke with was a newbie, and was referring to the entire combo when they said just the head??

-Mike

The combo+box+packing weighed 55 lbs- the combo alone is 49 or so. One of the two guys I have dealt with is reputedly a fairly high mucky-muck, the other is in sales. I don't really have gripe w/Eden at this point- it could be an honest mistake or computer glitch for all I know. If it's a dishonest employee w/sticky fingers, well, they're everywhere and as long as I eventually get my mini-rig, I'm not bitter- not just yet. :)

You'll be fine. No one is going to steal your rig. The couple times I had to call Eden, I spoke with a woman named Barb. She provided top notch customer service, and was very friendly. I also had the chance to speak to David as well.

I officially give up. I guess I can't really blame Eden, but as all their built units for this year were sold, they have to build me a fresh one. So, allegedly, it's complete less speaker. :hmm: The problem now is they don't have a coaxial driver for it. :rollno: Stinkin' Ed- oh, yeah: I give up...

Has anyone dealt with DHL? I just ordered a drumset and DHL lost it. Between hurricane delays and a girl at the shipping warehouse who didn't scan the package, it vanished. I should have it tomorrow hopefully, but it hasn't been a good first impression on DHL.

Man, I've had a PA system scheduled to be delivered since last Wednesday. Due to Hurricane Rita they shut down until today. So apparently they finally made an attempt to deliver it but I wasn't home cause I went away for 10 minutes to see a friend. I had only left because their website said they weren't delivering to my ZIP code. They wouldn't leave the package on the porch. When I first got my bass which is worth 3 times this PA system, they left it on the porch. All day. In a big big unattended box. In my ****ty neighborhood. Sometimes I hate UPS.
