STINKY, SMELLY in-ear cable?

Hey All,

My M-Audio IE-40's cable snapped last weekend, so I had to grab some IE-30's at Guitar Center...highest grade they had.

Anyway, they don't really sound too different (highs are tamer), but for some reason the cable that comes with them smells absolutely horrid...like a skunk.

Anyone had this similar experience and if so, how'd you remedy it? I'm thinking of dousing the cable with some cologne....

Yep, it took me how long to remember that the IE's cables are detachable for a reason...well, mostly a defective cable, but a smelly one is reason enough as well!

I ordered one for my 40's through Ultimate's Logitech online store...good to go.

You don't have to use cologne, but wiping it down with some type of disinfectant, (Purell, etc.) couldn't hurt.
