instead of being so difficult and ignorant to others, why dont you try out the bass AFTER you buy the bass first and see if you like it or not. You might play it and find out that you wont need a replacement. Maybe itll suck to your ears and you try another pickup. That might not be what youre looking for too. Maybe a precision bass isnt for you? who knows but you? buy the bass first and post after..

I bet back in the 50's when they were designing these p pickups they were saying "these sound soo modern!"

especially considering the only comparison was the un-amplified double-bass...
Actually, instead of "modern", they probably would consider them "futuristic" sounding (with a fair amount of accuracy).

If you find the pups on it are lacking something you want for the pup type, then replace them with ones that fix that. Otherwise leave the stock pups. Myself Id prob find I like the newer stock pups better.
