Stoked, my first bass!

How I learned bass: As a kid I bought a cheap bass and learned to play maybe 50 songs I liked by ear. I got very good at playing those songs. From there I just winged it and from what I taught myself from those songs, I was able to play just about anything after listening to it a few times. I could care less if I replicated "exactly" what the bass player on the track was playing, I mostly did my own thing and still do. There's no law that one way to play a song is the only way.

Now, if that doesn't work, just spend about $10,000 on four higher-end basses and hang them on the wall. Even if you're bad, they'll make you think you're good. LOL!
