Were they actually robbed? Or were they burglarized?
Couldn't have been one of us...only one bass has been stolen.
Sounds like it was burglary. No employee has provided a description of suspects so a person wasn't robbed, i.e. property stolen by force or intimidation.
Stories like this drive me nuts. Those people have no idea what they got themselves into, stealing custom one-off guitars.
Disgruntled employee/inside job? I would assume their shop is pretty secure.
Bout to say, that's now worth $12K on the used market, and you can't even sell it!
If that. Sadly, Carvin stuff has the worst resale value I've seen.
I'm betting whoever pulled it off is having it all shipped overseas or out of the country, probably the only way you could get away with it....other than keeping it in a room for 20 years.
To avoid having to watch a video of that guy, how did they get ripped off? (I'm sorry, i just can't stand that dude.)
They have a LOT of pissed-off former employees of theirs around town here. Wouldn't surprise me even a little.
I've been there plenty of times. Low-traffic industrial park, nobody there on Sundays, lots of glass. But those kinds of buildings are usually alarmed pretty well. And as others have noted, resale value? Guitar Center San Marcos is less than ten miles away and you could just walk out with one piece of vintage gear for the same payback. This is like stealing 20 Toyota Yaris when you could just grab one Lexus. Makes no sense, not even as grudge payback.
Well, people suck. In this case, everyone involved kind of sucks. Hope it works out for the best.

Each guitar was unique, that represents real time and effort. I hope things come right in the end.
Odd... was not in the local news *at all* - I just did a google search and found Nada. Very odd.
