stolen Gildaxe gilded solid-body - please let me know if it surfaces

Thanks Miles... I'm waiting for their response to a letter I sent to their customer relations dept before I start moving on suing. I'd been doing everything on-line so far and wanted a hard-copy record sent. In it I included my signature to show it looks nothing like the one they have on record. I hadn't considered that it was delivered to the wrong address. I doubt Pat would have mis-printed it - but it is a long-shot possibility I guess. It would mean whoever it was delivered to signed a version of my name (?) knowing it wasn't for them. Seems a stretch.
FedEx and USPS have been known to deliver our stuff to a house with the same number and a similarly named street nearby, and theirs to us. We've gotten to know the people a little bit. Nice folks. Thankfully they're honest. I've known people in similar situations who had to deal with some who were not.

Did you ever get any satisfaction from FedEx, etc?
Gotta' try and remember, that was a while ago... Pat was kind enough not to charge me for finishing it (as he shipped it FedEx), really sweet of him. FedEx paid what he insured it for, which was minimal - a few hundred dollars. So a fraction of what 1) a custom body was worth, 2) my gilding was worth, and 3) what Pats' final finishing was worth. My friend Reid who made the body made a second body, I gilded it, Pat finished it and it got assembled by Reid. I have a pic of him & it but can't find it right now. In general F- FedEx.

Found it - the second version came out differently -

Best way I've found to receive a package from FedEx is have it delivered to the closest FedEx store/location. And pick it up there.

That way they can't say it was "signed for by the recipient", "we delivered it, someone might have stolen it", ect.

Also you can unbox the item in front of a FedEx employee and if it's damaged or anything, an employee witnessed it.

They can't wiggle their way out of anything. If you need to file a claim you can do it on the spot ( I think, I've never had a problem since I started picking up my deliveries at one of their stores).
