Stolen lunch in the work place

I like the pepper thing. Chop up some ghost chilis and mix a bit in. Then you'll figure out who it is because they probably won't be able to contain their reaction and they'll also probably not do it anymore.

Stealing food at work is asinine but it happens. My attitude has always been to try to slip the thief something that would make them sick to their stomach, or crap their pants, something embarrassing. If they are turd enough to steal food at work, any normal discipline short of firing will not make any real impression on them so put them through some fear or public embarrassment and hope it works to blunt their desire to get over on their fellow workers.

We gad a guy who did that constantly where I used to work..

We all knew it was him after awhile because people had seen him do it when he thought no-one was looking...

We started using "bait" lunches ....like how the police use "bait" cars......

If that guy knew what he ate in some of those lunches we planned for him....he'd hurl.......:p

Someone made some lunch zip bags with fake mold printed on them. I think that might be pretty effective, if they don't throw them away.

Alternatively, you could put a bunch of habanero seeds in your regular lunch, and find the culprit easily. This would be my preferred method.

Or an entire bottle of hot sauce

This would make me MORE likely to pinch it. I keep a bottle of Habenero Tabasco Sauce in my cabinet.

Best response I've ever seen was a lady in my office who had a sandwich pinched from her lunch. She taped a note to the fridge that explained that since her sandwich was missing, she had not gotten the proper amount of nourishment and was starting to feel weak. The letter ended with a scrawl falling off the end of the page, an uncapped pen and the crumpled bag from the rest of her lunch on the floor, next to a chalk outline. HILARIOUS!!

My buddy that I worked with when I was still working construction kept getting his breakfast burrito stolen. We got a bottle of the hottest hot sauce we could find called Mad Dog 357 and poured about 1/4 of the bottle in the burrito. Just a finger tip of this hot sauce will set you on fire.

Long story short, we were comming up to the lunch tent for our morning break and found the culprit guzzling nasty water out of a hand wash station.

an uncle worked construction and his crew started stealing his lunch as a prank and because he always had a pretty good lunch.
So he made sandwiches with dogfood. Then he caught his crew eating his lunch and came on them making your basic dog howling noises and barking.
He never had any problems after that.

Never had this happen before. But we have an issue where people leave stuff in the break room fridge for months at a time. It gets all gross and moldy. Luckily, in logistics we have our own fridge in the back behind a locked door. But anyway, my boss posted a note saying the fridge will get cleaned out every friday morning, and if you don't put your name on it, it's getting thrown away. So he goes and cleans the fridge, this girl in another department got her Tupperware thrown away, because she didn't label it. She went all crazy exorcist head spinning over it. Proceeded to dig through the dumpster for twenty minutes then put in her two weeks notice. It was pretty hilarious. I just don't bring lunch to work. Too much drama. Haha.

We had a rash of this at my job. A camera was installed in the break room, everyone was told about it and that if they were caught, they would be fired. A few days later the guy was caught and fired. He must have thought that the camera was fake. No more problems.
