Stompboxes that sound good with both bass and guitar?

I'm looking to make a small pedalboard in the coming months, to replace my Boss-ME-50B. I need the pedalboard to be a good all-rounder for now though.

For solo shows I use a guitar with distortion, delay and chorus. I'm after some stompboxes that would do the job for this and my bass. I'm not very clued up on pedals but I was thinking at least for the delay that a DD-7 would do it?

I'd like to get away from Boss pedals if I can though; anyone got any suggestions?

What's the range of sounds like on it? For the guitar stuff I use a really heavy distortion mixed with a lot of delay so it sounds like it'd be good for that. For bass I'd like a pedal that can do that but also a mellow crunch style.

a big muff pi. They sound sweet on guitar as well as bass. That is one pedal I would use for both guitar and bass. What other effects are you looking for as well? I would also get a Sonic Stomp.

Primarily delay, chorus and distortion at the moment. Thinking about getting a Nano Bassballs at some point though.

the ibanez tube screamer ts9 (and i guess all of its models) sounds quite nice on bass... but if you turn it on and off during songs, you may have to adjust the low EQ. nice subtle overdrive anyway.

any delay will work either way, but chorus might or might not - i've heard a lot about the boss chorus being good for bass and guitar...

Even though you said you'd like to get away from boss. I think the HM-2 is awesome on guitar and bass.

I don't know if you like the gnarly crunchy filthy distortion that I like though. It can get pretty nasty, it can be tamed though.

Here's sample of it. I am not using a delay with it though. The very first song is probably the most representative of the pedal. It does mix well with a phaser and a flanger when I play it that way, so it seems versatile to pair up with a delay no problem.

Catalinbread SFT. The SFT is my newest pedal and I think it's earned a permanent place on my pedalboard. It's awesome for just a light gainy warmth, but can also do medium-edging-into-heavy grind.

delays and chorus would not be a problem. your problem is distortion. not all guitar distortions work well on the bass. filters are another problem area.

i would have mentioned some candidates have they not already been mentioned, so i'll go for the zvex box of rock / distortron

I've managed to get some really cool guitar effects out of my Zoom B2.1u. Just one thing, though: never try blending the clean signal with distortion on guitar, it sounds N-A-S-T-Y. To me, anyways.

Most of them if you use them either correctly or incorrectly depending on where the stars are reflected on pools of moonlit water.

You didn't say you were looking for a phaser, but the MXR Phase 90 is great on both.

The danelectro fab chorus pedal works real good on guitar and bass. this pedal can give you a smooth retro chorus sounds. sounds awesome for a $15 chorus pedal.
