Stoner/DOOM Bassists Part 33: This thread is for sissies!

This rig is for sissies

Since you guys are a bunch of sissies, I'm going to do some string testing on my P-Bass. Since I've had it, it's seen two sets of strings. LaBella 760FL and GHS Pressurewounds.

The LaBellas are beautiful strings, but I needed strings that are a little brighter since I'm using this bass for System ****. The Pressurewounds hit the right spot for me. They sound good for everything I play, not just the band. Hell, they even work for when I play some old Motown/reggae.

I've got a handful of strings here (some new, some used), so I figure why not try 'em all out. If I don't like 'em, I can probably trade them to someone for something else.

So here's what I'm dealing with:
R. Cocco Nickels (used on a different bass and they sounded ****ing awesome)
D'Addario Chromes (new)
DR Sunbeams (new)
GHS Boomers (new)

Gonna give the R. Cocco's a whirl on the P-bass now (if they fit) and see how it goes. I'll report back.

Sissies.

I see your from Dartmouth.
I lived there for 2 years 2005/6ish on primrose street
living there was ... interesting...

Sorry to hear that, man. The last few years has gotten worse. When I was working overnight shifts in Emergency, most of the crazy **** came from there. Shotgun blasts and everything.
