"Storeworn" Precision Bass

I was checking evilbay sales to see what used Hwy Ones were fetching, and saw this gem, which sold for $749.99.

It's wrongly listed as a Highway One, but it's a 2005 Hwy 1, no BA II, etc. But it does have 4 yrs of store mojo, which I assume accounts for the high selling price.

Did I miss a diamond in the rough?

Anyway, to get to my question, there's a CL listing here for a legit Hwy One for $700, but it has a Quarter Pounder and a gold anodized PG. What do you think I should offer?

First of all, there is nothing different between "Hwy 1" and "Highway One".

The eBay ad is wrong in that they listed the specs for the current (2006 and newer) Hwy 1 P bass. The bass in the pictures is an '05 Hwy 1 from before they added the BAII bridge and 70's style headstock logo. If it's never been sold, technically, it's still "new".

Personally, the '05 and earlier Hwy 1 instruments are some of my favorites (I have a Strat and Tele - both very nice instruments).

Actually they are different, and the names were specifically differentiated in Fender press releases, and are not interchangeable. Highway 1 is the original model and Highway One is the upgrade. The bass was listed as being the newer model, and specifically described as having the Badass II bridge, which it doesn't have.

Changes besides the bridge and logo include graphite reinforced neck, and a nitro finish, so the changes are fairly significant, and came with a nice price-hike.

PS- I love the nitro personally. Mine is already well worn in the normal areas.

Wow, I could have sworn they were $699.99 when I Googled them earlier. Did they go up at noon? :D

I would really prefer to snag a used one for less than $500, tho.

I was aware of the spec changes. Thanks for clarifying the name thing. This is the first time I've ever heard of a specific difference between "1" and "One" related to this series.
