TL;DR: There are children out there who think bass is super cool

I went to my local L&M yesterday evening and saw that they had a new Rickenbacker shipment. I decided to try one.
Just by the way, I am not a great player, but I always like to try the Ricks when they come in.
About 5 or 10 minutes after I started noodling, a kid, probably around 9 or 10 years old, came around the corner, stared at me and said, "I love bass guitar."
Expecting him to be some genius bassist who could play circles around me, I asked if he wanted to try the bass, and he said he didn't know how. I held it out for him, although I was apprehensive about letting him hold a $2500 bass, and he sort of strummed all the strings at once and said, "That's all I know."
And then, he literally ran back around the corner.
Anyway, I thought it was a nice encounter! I hope he gets a bass (I expect his parents are at least a little musical, since they were in a music store), and I hope he plays way better than me when he gets to my age (and beyond)
