Strange behavior on Nordstrand FatStack

Hello folks! I friend of mine has a bass with Nordstrand Fat Stack pickups, and oddly the pickups produce hum when switched to Stacked mode, but when switched to Single, the hum disappears, is supposed to be the other way arround rigth? and how we know when is stacked and single? because we hear clearly the boost un volume

Any suggestion will be appreciated!

Sorry, i made a mistake in the explanation, i know when it's in single mode and when it's in stacked, just wanted to know if that strange case has happened to anyone before

still not sure I understand.

Single mode is louder and hums when the pups are not balanced.
Stacked is softer in volume and tone and are humcancelling.

Make sure the red wire (tap) has good connection to ground.

He's saying you have it backwards. When it hums, it's in single coil mode, which is also louder.
