Strange electricity buzz with lost bass signal.

My amp has started making a strange buzz from time to time. The other day I was playing at home I got up for a moment to get something and put my bass on the stand and when I came bass there was a strange buzzing, very soft...I pick up the bass and the sound was all fuzzy. Then it went away. 20 minutes later the bass was standing again and the soft buzzing started and went.

What could this be...I am concerned because the signal dies and there is no bass sound...my second amp issue in two weeks

You roll the volume off when you're letting it sit, yes? Otherwise, not sure what's up. If it persists, you'll need an amp tech.

Does your bass have a battery in it somewhere?

I’m assuming you’ve already cleaned and checked all your jacks, effect send/return jacks, connections, cables, AC outlet, and replaced any old batteries, and etc - if so, my guess is it’s a bad cap(s).

I AM an amp tech...more than 40-years and 50,000 successful repairs. The only thing I've encountered that can cause what you're describing that is caused outside of the amp are light dimmers. The guitar can act as an antenna, detecting and amplifying the inherent 60hz. caused by the dimmer(s). Turn the dimmers off or move awat from them. OTHERWISE it sounds like an internal component, now intermittent in failing, later it will become steady-state. Total failure. See your local EXPERIENCED amp tech. NO wannabe's.
