Strange tastes in food?

I have always liked funky flavors/combinations in my foods

From the age of 7, when my mom packed my peanut butter and bologna sandwiches for me, I have had a taste for the strange.

Right now I'm eating a lovely mixture of Corn Flakes, Cheerios, Croutons, True Lemon, Tabasco, and fresh ground black pepper.

I would have the golden raisins on top...but I just ran out.

What Funky Food combos do you like?

I had cilantro/lime ice cream at a joint called lick in Austin, Texas on Monday. Those two go great in many dishes, but could be considered strange in ice cream. However, it was most excellent. So was the grapefruit/ginger.

Other than that, pepperoni dipped in cherry slurpee is good. Same with french fries dipped in Wendy's frosty.

for the purpose of designing a dish, one should always consider that everything on the plate will work together; in the event that it all runs together or the guest gets things touching while eating it. the key that i've learned is that you try not to duplicate on a single plate, but get as many as you can of the following:
sweet
tart
savory
acid
alkaline
saline

so far, none of the "strange" posts do a bad job. i see all of these things going together somewhat, but just thingking about the peanut butter and refried beans has me constipated and farty ;)

When I'm frying up slices of any kind of sausage for any purpose: with eggs for breakfast, jumbalaya, pizza, etc. I add a ton of cinnamon. Cinnamon magically makes heavily processed pork or chicken spring back to life.

Cinnamon on your sausage: you know you want to try it.

I've heard PB and bologna pretty often :p.

Dill pickles and chocolate go well together. None of that bread and butter blasphemy, though.
... and after a long series of events I was made to try a twinkie stuffed with flaming hot cheetos. You probably don't want to.

My grandmother was into fixing PB & bolonga sandwiches. Peanut butter is good on everything.

In Asia, Pringles has a Fruit n' Nut line of flavors. Blueberry Hazelnut is a good. So is Lemon Sesame.

Once I was in an altered state and had limited resources in my fridge. I combined fresh pineapple and ranch dressing. I remember loving it at the time but have never tried it again.

WHAT THE HELL IS THAT!? That's not food, surely. It looks like the inside of a giant cavespider's eggsac.
LOL! Beautifully put, been a while since I laughed so loud.

Had just woke up and my wife was wondering what the hell was going on. She also confirmed I have (I think disappointingly) zero odd food combos. Not seen anything enticing enough here yet. Maybe I lack the adventurous gene :-/
