This is going to be an odd one, and after 2 days of searching I've kind of given up on finding a useful answer.
Going YEARS back, I learned to play while sitting & leaning against a wall with my knees up (lack of furniture in bachelor pad). This generally lead to me playing with the bass at an angle that was probably about 30-40* from upright. Kind of like how Mike Kroeger can be seen playing in the Nickelback videos.
I still play like this when I'm sitting down, but I find it challenging to do standing up.
I don't want to drill holes in either of my basses until I know for sure, but would moving the strap buttons to different positions on the bass help achieve this angle?
If I were to move the horn button around the edge so it was pointed at the neck instead of parallel & moved the bottom button 2" towards my chest (up the bass), would this help?

) I found the best place for me was in the neckplate, putting the strap button in the upper left screw of the neckplate...
