Straps and Strap Locks... what do you prefer

I have a fairly crappy nylon strap, and I am looking to upgrade. But like most things, straps run the gamut from $5 to $250.

Also, strap locks seem like a good idea too... anyone have preferences?

i find that schaller unscrew themselves after about five minutes.

absolutely LOVVEE my 4'' black italia strap. incredible quality and to be honest it looks like its in mint condition after almost 2 years of owning it.

added dunlop locks to it, and i couldn't ask for anything better.

I use dunlop double design straploks and any strap that's at least 2.5 inches wide, preferably 3.

After using schallers for about 4 years i've stopped and just gone back to nothing. no disasters yet. If you're after a more modern strap with cushioning, i really like the comfort strapp

schaller all the way! I like the "pull out-nipple design" better then then dunlops "push in button design". as for straps i've only used ernie ball nylon straps. i've never had a problem with them so i've never felt the need to change.

I don't really need straplocks, but I needed to repair a bass, so I took the schallers. Good design and easy to use. For a strap, a planet waves rockstar strap does the trick. Better than the seatbelt-strap I used to have.

I'm a huge fan of Comfort Strapp! Though I'm still looking around for good deals (they're pricey retail in my book). Currently I use some Tweed strap I got off the bay. It's soft, I like the looks, and it's cheap ( < $15 shipped).

I'm also looking into Dunlop strap locks, would fit my needs perfectly, considering others too tho. gl with your search!

I have Schallers on one of my basses and I'm thinking of adding them to others. I like the pull-out release much better than the push-in one used by Dunlop since I reckon it's much harding to release the Schallers by mistake.

I prefer inset (recessed) Dunlops the most.

After that, the dual-action Dunlops that can be used with or without the locking mechanism.

No Schallers, please!

4" Moody Leather strap. Schaller strap locks on everything.

I have come across those flat plastic discs that are used to attach above the straps thus locking it. I thought this might be better than having to remove screws. Anyone have experiences with these discs?

As far as straps go....mostly I use wide straps.

In leather, I'm using Levy's and Italia. In the neoprene, I'm using ComfortStrapp and Brooklyn Gear.
