The thing I have noted is the the Schaller and Fender locks come with shorter screws than the original end pin screws.
Putting a longer screw in requires that you turn or mill the edges of the screw to fit in the barrel.
The manufacturer could provide a longer screw with more
reliability. They choose not to.
Thus the problems with stress and loosening. I have to check them every time I play the bass.
