Double Bass Straps

So i have recently become fed up with going to look at straps only to find, stuff like pink fur covered, cheesey cartoons, stuff like that(no offense to anyone that uses them, just not for me) anyways i got the idea to make my own, and then i got the idea i could make them and maybe make some extra change by selling them, long story short im planning on making up some and giving them to the first few people that respond on this thread that say there interested, free of course, to get some feedback. any thoughts?

It's tough to find a simple, GOOD strap. Especially as a bass player! three to four inch wide straps are hard to find! You thinking leather? Woven cotton? I'm interested to see what your plans are!

A padded leather strap without the suede on the back that so many companies put on there would be nice. I hate when the suede sticks to and moves my shirt when I try and adjust my bass.

I'm curious... what kind of straplocks do you guys use on your heel?

If you make a strap, make sure it's long enough to go around the endpin.

my favorite straps are 4inches wide with not much padding. i let the extra width spread the weight out evenly while the strap remains flexible.

You should ask Pee Dub... he knows straps (or strapless, if you prefer), AND pink fur. Intimately.

I used to use a plain ol' black leather strap with one of those slide-on seatbelt pads for comfort. Of course, it got lost in one of my many moves..

Looking online or in stores for a decent leather strap with a pad that doesn't cost an arm and leg is frustrating - I always like to 'try them on' before I buy, and most of the local music stores don't carry anything like that that is 'affordable.

If you're going to prototype straps, I'd be interested in trying one out, if you make them available.

Once youve got your DB strap sorted out I can recommend you guys a good chiropractor
