String Conundrum

Ive heard very few stories about dead in box strings for rotosound but tons for DR. Mainly used rotosounds swing66 since the mid 70's and only ever had 1 dead in box string. When I was using dr neons for about a yr I had 3 boxes with dead in box strings for the two basses I was using them on..

Thanks everyone for your replies :) I actually completely forgot for a while that I had posted this. I ended up trying the DRs and really like them. The feel and the sound are great. There is one more thing I am wondering though. Is there any quality difference between round and hex core? Do round core have a longer life than hex? Or vice versa?

Is the outer wrap on round core strings more likely to unravel because there are no edges for the wrap to grip onto? I've always wondered that.
