String hitting pickup

I apologize if this is in the wrong thread, but I got a 5 string Aria bass for Christmas, and the low B string (I play it on A sometimes), hits the pickup or the neck really bad, so much so that sometimes it drowns out the notes I'm playing. I was going to take it to the guitar store, but in case there was some easier way I figured I'd post here and see if anyone knew if i needed to lower my pickups, or something like that. Thanks in advance for the help!

Should be able to raise the string at the bridge. If it's hitting the neck lowering the pickup isn't the solution. You just need a setup. Music store can do that for you.

Adjust action for that string and lower the pickup a little on that side.
