Hello TB Folks,

The seller of this bass wasn’t sure what brand of strings they were, he though Rotos or Daddario’s. Does anyone know? They are medium scale rounds with a light blue silk. Thank you!

What colors are the ball ends? Do they have silk at the ball end as well? Also, can you measure the E string from the ball end to the start of the silk at the tuner end and tell me what the measurement is? Thanks.

Like michael_t already said they look 100% like Rotosound 66 nickels but are you sure about the winding length? As far as I know the Roto nickels are only avaliable as long scale sets? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks for pointing out the fact SB66 Nickels only come in "long scale". I mistakenly assumed the ones in the OP's pic were Nickels based on the fact the long-scale Nickels do come with light blue silk.

I guess this is Rotosound's way of keeping us all confused. ;):D

I recently received a set of Swing Bass that turned out to be 50-80-85-110. The 80 had the right color end (because it had come from a 65-80-105-130 BEAD set) but the 70 they sent me very apologetically had the wrong color (because it had come from the Funkmadrer 30-50-70-90 set) This also made me very confused for a while.

But I was quite pleased to see that I could feel the difference between an 80 and an 85 :cigar:

Hey, look what I've found...

Rotosound Swing Bass 66 Stainless Steel Medium Scale (RS66M) with blue silk!

NOTE: Obviously the ones in this pic are an older version with brass ball ends and silk at both ends. But there is no mistake about the blue silk.

Thanks! That's news to me. I can't remember seeing Roto steels with anything other than red silk but I've never tried their mediums scale sets. I guess they must be 66 steels then.
