Double Bass string life expencty

Until theyre too dull for you, or the windings get damaged.

I work on 12-18 months.

If you like dark strings they could be on there for many years.

I don't care for them until after they are 6 mo old. Then they are great... forever.

My DB has had the same strings on it for 10+ years. Back when I was playing a lot, my roundwound BG strings needed to be changed frequently, but the LaBella flats on my P-Bass stayed there for as long as I owned the bass.

Oh, and Marc--I have been meaning to say that your signature here on TB (<make a jazz noise here>) always makes me smile.

I always find the E wears out long before the other 3. Anybody else notice this?
