Pity you can only have one choice. I voted old flats, (TI's) but now and then I like to switch to my other bass which which has rounds. I'm sure there are lots of people who like both.
I like zingy strings the best. You get a really nice treble response even when you turn down the treble control. When strings die, you can turn up the treble, but it always sounds harsh to me. I change strings about once every 2 months unless they really die fast.
Ugh, only one vote. Personal opinion... if it's on a bass it sounds good.
I'm going to go with new rounds because using the eq and my hands i can get the most dynamic range of sounds
