YesJust to clarify...
Are you talking about a 4-string tuned to C-G-C-F?
I considered those. How do they sound?I've used DRs DDTs with great success.
Also, which gauge did you go withI considered those. How do they sound?
They sound like DR Fat beams and their other stainless steel strings.I considered those. How do they sound?
What gauge did you end up using to get drop C?They sound like DR Fat beams and their other stainless steel strings.
They feel fine in drop tunings, more tense and less floppy than "normal" strings. They sound like stainless steel strings should, no issues.
105 - 50 elixirI been planning to drop tune a bass of mine in Drop C, any recommendations?
You still have the same problem, if you play some lines with the guitars that are basically impossible to play without being in the same tuning.Get a 5 or 6 string bass.
I've played with a drop C guitarist without any problems. Not sure what difference it would make. You still have the same problem, if you play some lines with the guitars that are basically impossible to play without being in the same tuning.
Back to OP. For me I use any set that has 110 gauge. I like my string action quite high, so no problem with those. For recording I use the DDT. For normal usage, I use the Harley Benton HQS from 50-110.
