String Silk Colors?

To me they look like older Fender 7150, pure nickel. All Fender strings have changed 2-3 years ago (for the worst sadly...). They do not have silk anymore (except the 9050 flats which have a nice green silk).

BTW, I used to love the older 7250 (black silk). Anyone knows what would be the closest replacement for those older 7250?? (don't mind the silk color, only looking for the tone...)

Medium scale Rotosound flats have blue silk.

I just installed D'Addario ProSteels XL. No silk. Color-coded ball-ends.

Anyone have any idea what these round wounds might be? I would call the color magenta and it is on both ends? Hope you can see it alright - definitely NOT purple- and it is medium scale.

Hey I need help identifying some flats I put on my EKO 995. They have light blue silks both ends and brass coloured ball ends. I think they are rotosound but they seem too smooth not like the Monel flats with the red silks... Any ideas???

they actually are Rotosound. the short and medium scale sets of Jazz 77 are smoother ("more polished", because compared to real smooth flats they still are a bit rough) and with light blue silk.

even the Swing66 in short and medium scale have the light blue silk.

I'm having trouble getting them to intonate in Eb tuning. Any tips on flatwound string gauges for that tuning on a 31" scale neck? I think rotosound flats are only a light gauge in their medium scale sets.

what colour silks do Rotosound steve harris sig. flats have?
in a bass player road report they showed blue silks (makes sense with Harris' obsession with West Ham football club)
the standard Roto RS77's have red silks.

Steve Harris Flats have Light Blue silk at the tuner end and Red silk at the ball end, with brass balls. As you astutely noticed, they are the colors of his favorite football team.

I bought a set of Roto 77's a few years back that were blue at both ends. But a recent purchase of a B and E singles, where the E was Red and the B was Red at the nut and black at the bridge and had a white ball.

I just pulled my bass out of storage. Trying to identify the strings. Based on this thread they are probably TI's or GHS. The strings on the bass are flats and all of them have gold end balls with have bright red silk on both ends. Probably 105-045's.

probably Rotosound Jazz77, because GHS flats have PURPLE silk only on the headstock, and Thomastik are light gauge and really flexible, far from the tension of average 45-105 strings.

- Ernie Ball flatwound Group 3 (45-65-80-100) - Light Blue silk at the peghead and ball end
- Ernie Ball flatwound custom gauge single strings- dark blue

I can't remember for sure if the above sets and their colours are in the correct order though. The Group 3 could have the dark blue silks.
