String spacing for Jazz nut.

I searched for an hour and can't find the thread that has these dementions. I believe the "E" and "G" strings are in the same distance from the edge of the nut and the spacings are equal not the centers. Can anyone tell me the distance from the edge? ....does that make sence?

damn, I just did a repair this afternoon making a new nut for a Jazz. I wish I would have measured things for you, but the customer sat in while I did her bass.

I use the stew mac nut spacing ruler, which has the bass strings with slightly wider spacing than the treble strings to keep their centers as equal as possible. It came out very nice ...much nicer than the stock nut (very crudely made and hard edges ...a real shame).
