Strings for a new player

I am a week into playing this thing [Ibanez AEB5E]. I suspect it will be mainly bluegrass and old style gospel. I have found a few choices for strings but nothing mentioning for a new player. Is there a particular choice for someone who is new to a string instrument or will it just not matter?

It really doesn't matter, and as a new player you should spend more time getting to know your instrument before you start worrying about tone, strings, amps, etc...

I would suggest you start off with some medium gauge nickel roundwounds. as they are extremely versatile and widely available.
