Strings for Ibanez BTB805MS

Hi all, hopw everyone is well.

If anyone can give me some advice regarding replacement strings for an Ibanez BTB805MS then I would love to hear your input. this bass has become my main and only bass recently and I'm struggling to find a set of strings that I can consistently purchase without worry of the fit regarding the length of the bass etc.

I got in contact with D'addario last year and they were good enough to make me a B string to fit and ship it over from the USA to keep me going but its past time for a restring and I dont want to fork out for a set that doesnt fit properly.

Dingwall's own 5 string sets seem to be selling in the UK now which should do the trick but does anyone have any other thoughts?

thanks so much for your time in advance,

Peace.

SIT (Stay-In-Tune String Co.) offers a set of Power Wound Nickels specifically designed for the Dingwall Multi-scale through Fret Nation, which is a dealer based in S. California. I'm not sure how it would work for you in the UK to order them, but you can always get in touch with Jason (owner) through email and inquire about it. [email protected].

Spector's fanned fret strings would fit, if you can get those in the UK.

Payson makes strings that would fit. They're shipped from the US, so you'd probably have to order several sets to make it worth your money.

Newtone and Pyramid make custom strings in the UK or EU. I hear especially good things about Newtone - I see a lot of folks in the US ordering from them.

Might be worth reaching out to Ibanez to ask them what they use.

EDIT: I was looking on FretNation and they have a bunch of sets that fit longer fanned fret basses like Dingwall, which ought to fit your Ibanez that they didn't last time I owned a long-scale Dingwall. Dunlop, GHS, SIT, and D'addario. Again, coming from the US, so not the most cost effective on shipping.

In case you weren't aware (you may well be),
Bass Direct has a very decent selection of multiscale strings of various brands
Strings - Bass Direct
but you'll have to do some homework as to what does and does not fit your specific bass.
