You'd be partly wrong. Aussie slang being used by a Kiwi as a jest. Ocker and Buckley's are ockerisms. Cobber is an ockerism and synonym for mate. I'm as aussie as you can get, but I can't recall the last time I heard cobber used. 'Shirley Not' sounds like a kiwism. Kiwi's use yonks and bloke like us Aussies.Uhh... Can I assume that this is Kiwi slang for "NO"?
Regarding strings, as far as I know there a no bass guitar strings manufactured in Australia, unless they make them in an under ground bunker in the Simpson and distribute them by word of mouth to a network of bassists who never leave their homes and tell anyone what they use he he
