Strings Options for Multicsale bass

I have full 6 set on NG3, yes, the JF36136 will fit with room to spare, photo for reference. It will intonate at the bridge right before silk starts as well, sounds like a grand piano.

Got set from fretnation, they sell pre-assembled sets that fit 5 and 6 string dingwalls, very good experience, you don’t have to hunt for singles or combine sets.

It’s a mix of jf36x and jf34x.
BEA are JF36x and DGC are JF34x.
Thanks @aff , the photos are very helpful! I found single strings discounted at Fret Nation, so I ordered 2 x 36 (B, E) and 3 x 34 (A, D G). Can't wait to put them on!

NP.
The JF34 A string might be a bit short though, it’s 35.5 scale and a far away tuner even on 5 string, slightly closer than on a 6er though.
I didn’t even had to cut my A, just fed it to the post as is and it gave me 4 wraps I think. Hope it works for you.
Email Jason at fretnation, he’s super friendly and knowledgeable and probably can correct the order it A will not fit.

Actually sec, I have a new JF34 A somewhere, I’ll measure it for you, brb.

I measured new uncut JF34070 - it should be fine and will reach bottom far post, and silk will be post nut, you are all set.

DR sets fit my AB-1 four string, the E just makes it over the nut. I don’t know about the five string sets.

Jason at FretNation.com would know for sure. I think he has organized a whole category of strings the fit the Dingwall basses. All brands and styles.

Check it out, you’ll get great prices and service!

I tried the Dragonskins, my first go with a coated string, and they didn’t work for me.
Sounded and played just fine, but I didn’t get along with the feel. Not quite as raspy as stainless, but close.

Alloy and nickel rounds are my speed with a smoother feeling outer wrap.

Two 36s and three 34s fitted my Combustion perfectly. And the sound is delicious!
