(seriously, everything is not for everybody of course, but after using the turbo for a few years now both on stage and on the repair bench, regular tuners just seem slow and stupid in comparison.)
OK, I'm starting to get a picture here. I've used Conn and Peterson mechanical strobes and the Peterson virtual strobe. They take a lot more finesse to use than other digital or needle display units. First strobe I used was a Conn teching for Scott Smith in the early '80's and initially I hated the thing. He made me use it though and once I learned the touch I needed to put on his custom Spectors to get a good reading I really grew to like it. Strobes are touchy and whenever I hear people bitching about them I assume the operator is just unable to make friends with the thing. Most of the ones I've used worked.
