Strong fundamental but not dull and thuddy

I tried them at home...the Chromes I did a diservice though, I tried them on, and took them off after like a couple of hours, reason being I had a gig that night and didn't want the change of feel to affect my playing too much...The 77s I can't really remember if I played that many gigs with them or not.

That's a good point though, definitely should give flats a try soon and give them a good couple of months of playing/gigging...

Gosh, what is this... two months later and the Pressure Wounds are still performing well.

When a guy like Jason who has access to every possible bass string in existence, time and time again recommends pressurewounds for so many different purposes, there's got to be something to it.

Might have to give the Pressures a try...I went with the Precision Flats just to give Flats a real concerted effort...and they feel good, I feel like I may have gone with too low a gauge though, 95-45.

Have the Pressures changed in character over the few months? Less/more zing, more/less thuddy?

They changed most in the first few playing hours (lost the obnoxious zing), but have been really consistent since. I clean my strings all the time - before and after playing with either bass brites or lighter fluid. The PRs still have a nice harmonic on top. Not dull or thuddy at all. Nice growl when favoring the bridge PU. Just really musical.

for me and my jazz the flats that work best are the fenders light gauge. tons of fundamental yet still have "tone"and "punch". Will get thumpy too with a little bit of muting. Top end can be dialed in nicely. Very responsive flat IMO. Tension is reasonable. Not loose like sunbeams but not cables either.
Since I've put these on my jazz, my P bass stays in the case.
