No.
No, but it does have a tremendous deal to do with my respect for him as a person, and whether or not I feel like supporting his artistic creations. Of the people I know and sincerely trust, and from my interactions, I would personally be fine not to have anything to do with the man. I would tell that to his face, but unless I was expressing adulation, he probably wouldn't be interested.
It's interesting though, as I may be a bit of a hypocrite. If I really enjoyed his music, I might feel differently. Personally, I just really do not enjoy his playing style. It might be simply because it's such a departure from my inspirations. I've certainly made every attempt at being subjective, and I feel, on the whole, I've been successful in that. I just wonder if I might be more forgiving if I cared for his music. Probably not, a spade's a spade.
Chops doesn't always get the gig. Personality, like all industries, goes pretty far into what you do, and how successful of a career you have.
Okay. But I respectfully disagree. It's obvious you're a fan, and as I've stated before, he's good at what he does, and I might even feel differently if I enjoyed what he did. Probably not, but I leave open that possibility, but the fact remains, I could care less. And if I, a usually very quiet person on these boards in regards to matters of individual personality, would feel the need to actually mention it, in my mind, it's severe enough. And personally, I don't think it vain to state that I feel my tenure, work and post history on these boards affords me a certain respect in my opinions. While they may not always be accurate, they are most certainly well thought-out.
