Double Bass Stuck Endpin and crooked saddle

Hi hope you Guys can help. My endpin gives me a lot of grief when I need to adjust it. I have to use pliers and that's not a good thing. Also the saddle (correct me if I'm wrong) seems to be coming out at an angle which I believe to be caused bt the tailpiece. If its simple to do I'll do it myself. I was going to try to take the endpin completely out and tap the saddle back in with a rubber mallet and sand it out but the tail piece really worrys me.

The saddle is the piece of wood that the cable connecting the tailpiece to the end pin plug passes over. What is pulling out is your end pin plug. That is not a simple tap it in with a mallet job. From what I've been told it isn't the most pressing repair. I had the same issue for a few years before I got it fixed on my bass. That is a job for a luthier.
