Stuck in a rut..

I have come to the point where i dont know any new songs to try and play, i have been playing bass for a few months and i am interested in a wide range of music but i play alot of metal and rock. I use a pick and fingers sometimes and would just like to hear some suggestions of some really fun songs to play that would help me improve my dexterity and overall help me improve (as i am still very much a beginner)

Go to studybass.com and read through some of the lessons and start to get to know some theory, its alot more interesting than just reading tab

The Internet is full of stuff you can play-a-long to.
Google - Video, Clapton, Layla - and play along with it.
