So I've been relegated to a much smaller than anticpated space, with more gear than originally planned for. The current guest room where my amps are, has been deemed the studio / home office. Great!. Including my server racks for my IT work / study. Ugh. Okay so in the closet they go, with an AC duct (done), and insulated doors and sweeps to keep the fan noise in the closet. (in progress). This literally means that all of the CPUs are going to be on the other side of the wall from the studio space. This is good. HOWEVER, there are some issues I need to address...
#1. Door knob trim.
When playing, the trim on the door knobs rattles against the doors, The louder I play, the louder the rattle. It is unbelievably annoying. These are old 1980s Weslock passage sets, the kind that have the trim that clips on instead of like the Kwikset that screw together and can be pulled tight. Is there something I can do to mute the rattle of these old trim pieces or should I just replace the knob sets?
#2. Workstation / Desk. I need a small, fairly vertical desk that will provide space for the keyboard, mouse, a 32" monitor, an HP Photosmart 7520e all in one machine, AND my big mixer (Behringer XENYX X2442USB). I can find wide worksations that will fit the bill, I need somethign that goes more vertical. Looking for suggestions... FWIW, I am thinking something like THIS ONE on Amazon but with an added shelf over the monitor area for the mixer... (The wheels are not needed).
