After 5 years of ProTools I'm converting to a less cumbersome program so I can spend more time with the bass in my hands and less with the mouse. Went with a PreSonus interface and trying to get used to the software, but three things are bugging the crap out of me:

1. How do you import a track from a CD or even a ripped file into the program?

2. How do you execute fading? This was cake with ProTools, but SO seems more ellusive here.

3. How do you X-fade when you splice two pieces together from different takes?

Thanks, all.

Did you get this straight? I've been figuring out Studio One off and on for a couple of years. Did you stay with it?
