Sorry if this is a stupid question. Will I go through batteries faster if I consistently boost the EQ on my bass, or is the current draw the same, regardless of whether or not the EQ is boosted?

Stupid battery question

Probably a little more, but nothing that you should be worried about.
Just remember to unplug when you're done, and it should last a few good months at least.

Keep your preamp flat and boost what you want to boost on your amp. This is how you get your best tone, IMO.

+1 I don't think boosting your EQ is going to do much, but as long as you have the lead plugged in, your switched on. Unplug after playing and your battery should last a fair while.
