Forgive my Fender related ignorance.... just came into possession of a beat up MIM precision that has a cracked pickguard right at the output jack. It's a cream colored 13 hole guard with standard P pup, volume, and tone cutouts. Truss rod is at the headstock. I am utterly clueless as to what variant of MIM this is. It was formerly a college jazz band castoff, so I'm guessing whatever was cheapest and most common at the time. Based on the rust and overall road wear, I'm guessing its a 90's era bass. Would the serial number (MN3114424) give some clues as to what will fit? I know its not worth much, so I.want to get a cheap brown tort guard like this one:
