Stupid question about IEM Systems (mixing brands)

As the title suggests, here's my stupid question:
Is it possible to mix IEM senders and recievers from different brands as long as they use the same frequencies?

Or more specific:
Sender: Thomann's T.bone IEM200 series
Receiver: Sennheiser EK 2000 series

RF is RF, so I don’t see why it wouldn’t work.

If you can find the same frequency, it should work.

Unfortunately, this is why we have cross talk and interference at large venues with lots of RF going on.

You sound check early in the day when the venue is empty, and all is fine, then come show time and you add police/security/video/broadcasting/etc and you now have drop outs and interference.

Because when the frequencies are the same, they don't care what brand is on the box.

It would say it depends. In the lower level market with simple send/receive stuff... I would say yes, it's "just RF".
When you get to the higher end (Senn G3, PSM 300, 900, 1000) I suspect there are proprietary "sync" features that MIGHT make matching up something like a G3 xmitter with a PSM receiver, not works to well?
It's just a guess as I HAVE NOT TRIED IT....
