stupid question

i cant really find the answer on here....im sure after hours of looking i might but i dont have that kind of time man...ok the question...if somthin is run in series that means one or the other is on at any time, or does it mean both things are on. example i get an external cab that runs in series with the speaker in the combo, do both produce sound or only one speaker? or am i thinking of parallel?

In series or parallel, they both "run" at the same time. If you wire speakers in series their total resistance to current flow (ohms) goes up, If you wire them in parallel, their total resistance to current flow goes down.

these are both parallel.

Series is very, very, very rarely used. I've never even heard of it in a production amp. Only in weird custom jobs or very special applications.

Series or parallel have to do with electrical circuit and not the physical chain.
