Subdecay Prometheus DLX

yeah. that's hot BISHES right thar. there's a store near me that stocks Subby's stuff, thiiiiink i might be picking up one of those bad boys pretty soon.

although, the Promo standard didna do it for me. it was neat, but a volume spike made what i liked.... not likable.

this speaks to me though.

Its a pretty cool effect. It took probably 2 years to fully develop. Some of the modes are still in the air as far as functionality but overall, its a fantastic pedal.

I would encourage everyone who needs a filter to check this out. It does everything and I seriously mean that filter wise. We spent the last 2 weeks making pre-orders and getting pictures ready. Brian just finished the manual for it.

If you have any questions about it, I can answer them.

"volume spikes" are pretty much part of how filters work. you can get around this in a number of ways. A compressor circuit will do the job, but usually turns everything in to mush, especially on the low end.

Some filters get around this simply by decreasing resonance and not letting the cutoff go very low. You could do that with the prometheus as well, but you'll need to set the knobs your self.

mixing in the dry signal with the filter usually works best. there's an internal switch to mix dry signal in with the bandpass filter. Something we added just for you bass players, although I'm sure others might find it useful too.

Caleb knows a bit about the PDLX, but a I should clarify.
None of the modes are up in the air. Most of them are completely finished, and the ones that are not either need minor tweaks or fixes.

and I still haven't finished the user guide/manual. :crying:

yar. i know that's kinda the nature of the beast with filters. since it's going through such a range of eq with the peaks and values and all......... but yeah! a blend knob to me is KEY to me for how useful a filter's going to be. awesome that you guys planned for that!

is it a fixed blend or adjustable? i'd still way prefer it to be it's own knob, but that's WAY better than nothing.

it's a switch. I know everyone wants another knob to do this or that... but this pedal could get beyond ridiculous if we added every little feature for everyone.

Okay, you guys suck.

Here is why...I had a Prometheus before I had to sell off most of my pedals due to unemployment. I liked it, and it was my first filter. My only issue is control-ability (which I suspect I would have that same issue with all filters, or at least it was due to my inexperience with them). So here I am, planning a new board and getting ready. I was settled on a filter that was released since the Prometheus.

And now you do THIS?!?!?!

You have made me change my plans...again. Now this supercedes my previous selection.

Sigh...you guys are evil.
