Suggest new music, please.

Since a few years ago, and discovering Protest The Hero and The Fall of Troy, I have found music I like, but nothing that I love. I dig experimental rock music, and progressive stuff. Something that is really unique and refreshing. I can appreciate a good song writer as much as a good musician. So whether it be acoustic, rock, metal, folk, whatever. Make some suggestions, please.

Try "The Brandt Brauer Frick Ensemble".
I,for one, like them, especially their new album"Mr. Machine".:)

HAHA! Harmonies that sound like kids bop hey? Fair enough (even though I'm not quite sure I understand the sentiment).

I don't want to get into a pissing contest about whose "liked" band is better, or who puts on a more "raw" live show, but I'm not the only one who hears the comparison:

Taken from the album write up in iTunes for In the Unlikely Event:
"At other times, vocalist Thomas Erak sounds shockingly like Coheed and Cambria's Claudio Sanchez; indeed, if "Single" had a much longer and dumber title and an epic, arena-rock guitar solo, it could be a Coheed and Cambria track".

As far as not understanding (without having to see a band's live show), believe me, I get it. I'm a little older than you and I'm very familiar with post punk, screamo, and math-core bands.

If that's what you are looking for then listen to some of the old bands I used to listen to: Poison the Well, Unearth, Darkest Hour, Glassjaw, The Bled, Hopesfall, or very early Atreyu.

Your opinion is about as useful as that album writeup. Get away from my thread please.

For heavier stuff, albeit not as heavy as the bands you listed, check out Moving Mountains and O'Brother. For some lighter but still cool stuff check out My Brightest Diamond and Feist.

Most people have heard Feist's singles, but her other material is definitely worth checking out. I'd start with her first album and then work forwards, but her latest is really great as well.

I never any of these, but im really digging them so far. Thank you!

HAHA! Sorry to hurt your feelings, kid. I will refrain from your thread (and apparently bruised ego) now.

However, it would be helpful for the future posters to know that when you said "suggest new music", you meant "suggest new metalcore, and make sure your opinion jives with mine".

Good luck.

I don't like you. I don't like the music you posted. I don't like your attitude.

Sorry that I don't dig any of the bands you posted. Variety is the spice of life. That's why we all own different basses, play different music, and have different lives. If you want to find somebody to eat every one of your words, and act like you, good luck.

I don't like Coheed. Their sound doesn't appeal to me. They also sound nothing like TFOT. I understand that not everybody has the ears to hear the differences, but to me it is apparent. I'm a bit of a snob sometimes with music, I'll admit, but it is because I have confidence to say what I like and don't like. If you aren't ok with handling that, I don't care. I don't have time to sit you on my lap and bounce you until you stop crying.

I'm asking nicely. Turn around. Get out of my thread. Take your bullhead ego to somebody else's thread.
