Suggestion: Paid Features for Clubs

Cheap annual rate for a club to gain extra features

• Private Chat Room for Club Members only, if chats become a thing.
• New Club Owner, or whatever you call it, can be granted if the original has been AFK for, 3-6mo.
• If there is a Club Subforum, a club could be allowed up to X amount of additonal threads in it, beyond pt.2, pt.3 etc.
• Media Gallery
• Audio files album (FunkWhale, MediaGoblin, ???)
• Videos Album (PeerTube, MediaGoblin)
• Jamulous, Murmur/Mumble audio chat conference room/section
• Probably some other things.
• [Club Name] Talk Bass merch like stickers and patches

Are you talking about club members here on TB? If so, I appreciate your enthusiasm, but I don't think that idea would get a lot of traction here.

Yeah. lol. I think they're a cool idea. Some are far more active than others. Some Clubs seem like they would be active and have more members but, people don't know they exist. So, combine this idea with having a separate subforum and wiki list and people will join, then some will want extras.
Plus, if someone spends a few dollars then one would be more likely to stick around as a caretaker of said community.

There are just far too many free users on here for me to think that would be a popular option. Maybe if it was an added benefit for all supporting members or possibly an elevated tier of membership? I don't think though that it would be viable if limited to just a clubs membership. I could be wrong though...

That would be really cool. I was thinking something super cheap like $10-20/yr. Perhaps additional tiers could be available for huge amounts of storage space and other options to cover a discounted rate of paying to support other users.
Maybe a person could cover eir own membership plus that of a few helpers, and/or VIPs.

Oh, no! Yet more duties needlessly piled onto the TB admins!?!?

• Have you considered using the existing Private Conversation (PM} facility for a "private chat room"? You can add many, many users (or user groups you create) to a Private Conversation. The PM creator has substantial control over the access of others.

• Let the club members administer the club. TB admins don't need to do this.

Threads were previously limited to approximately 1,000 posts, but that's no longer the case. Threads can now continue on without parts 2, 3, etc.

Clubs have been getting along just fine without additional electronic places for their media, audio & video by simply each poster embedding them into the thread in their posts. If someone wants to collect them for the club, they can make a wiki page of links to them in the club thread. No additional TB admin burdens necessary!

Club members, or any TB users for that matter, are free to engage in whatever outside endeavors they chose. It doesn't have to be a TB sanctioned/sponsored/administered feature to serve a precious few of the thousands of TB users, nor possibly a great number of groups of relatively few users each for very diverse purposes/merch items/jams/murbles.
