Ditto on the Mikro. I have owned 3, each bought used or almost used. Gave the first to my grandson and soon missed it so got lucky on the second...literally unused (I found out why), then got a deal on another for conversion to piccolo bass. The one I picked up for this conversion was made in China and the finish and set up was nowhere near as complete and well done as the Indonesian one I bought second. On the piccolo project, I found I had to file and dress the frets (a lot!) so as not to cut my hands. It took a good bit of time and attention. I also swapped to a Hipshot Bridge and made a new nut and installed EMG (Geezer Butler pickups - nice pieces in my view). After this effort and investment, I found I really didn't take to playing piccolo. Turns out it was not suited to as much of what I wanted to play as I had anticipated. Also, I love tinkering anyway. So I now have 2 somewhat different Mikros, both suited to my nearly 84 year old claws that pass for hands and enjoy both of them. The earlier (Indonesian) unit is very smooth in the hands and meets my needs.
